大部分人不知道那在哪，

或是那代表什麼意思。很好。

大部分紐西蘭人自己也不知道，

如果他們曾經知道過。悲哀啦。

我們全部都是島，徹底的被遺忘，

還假裝我們沒有。

Improving for the Worse　　by Brian Turner

I come from New Zealand.

Most people don't know where it is,

or what it stands for. Good.

Nor do most New Zealanders,

if they ever did. Sad.

All of us are islands, entirely lost,

pretending we are not.

Note:

１）我很喜歡這個紐西蘭詩人寫的東西！

這首我覺得把New Zealand（紐西蘭）和New Zealanders（紐西蘭人）

改成Taiwan（台灣）和Taiwanese（台灣人）也很貼切。

２）詩裡的island是島，同時也是（被）孤立的東西，

所以第七句也可作「我們全部的人都是（被）孤立的」解讀。

同句的lost除了被遺忘也有搞不清楚方向的意思。
